Labels:text | screenshot OCR: After experimenting with how a wave reflects off flat surfaces, Leonardo makes a perceptive observation: that upon reaching the shore, circular waves grow in circumference while retaining their initial curvature. He also explains that a line that "passes Demonstrate through the intersecting points of the two cirdes never changes place, but extends its length with the increasing of the circle." (23r) The experiment re-created here verifies Leonardo's obser- vations. As waves pass through one another, the motion at the point of intersection is the same as if they had encountered a solid barrier. The reflected wave has the same radius and pattern as the original wave.
